Website Legal Requirements

Florida State Statute 189-069(1) requires every special district to have a publicly accessible website.

 

1. Full Legal Name:

   Coral Bay Community Development District.

 

2. Public Purpose:

     To plan, finance, construct, operate, and maintain community-wide infrastructure.

 

3. The name, official address, official e-mail address, and, if applicable, term and appointing authority for each member of the                         governing body of the special district.The information for each of the Board members is in the “Board of Supervisors” section of the Contacts page.

 

4. Fiscal year:

      October 1 through September 30 (like the federal government and most municipalities).

 

5. The full text of the special district’s charter, the date of establishment, the establishing entity, and the statute or statutes under                  which the special district operates, if different from the statute or statutes under which the special district was established.

       In November 1989, the City of Margate’s City Commission established the Coral Bay Community Development District by City            Ordinances 89-22RZ-3-89, and 89-23, granting those special powers to the CDD as set forth in Section 190.012(1) and (2)(a),        and (d) of the Florida State Statutes. This information is provided in the two sections above on this page: “Coral Bay Community Location” and “Responsibilities of the Coral Bay CDD”.

 

8. A listing of all taxes, fees, assessments, or charges imposed and collected by the special district, including the rates or amounts for the fiscal year and the statutory authority for the levy of the tax, fee, assessment, or charge. For purposes of this subparagraph, charges do not include patient charges by a hospital or other health care provider.

While the CDD has not developed Coral Bay -specific ethics provisions, the CDD does operate under the State’s ethics provisions, as stated above in the last paragraph of “What a Community Development District is”.

 

11. The budget of the special district and any amendments thereto in accordance with s. 189.016

12. The final, complete audit report for the most recent completed fiscal year and audit reports required by law or authorized by the governing body of the special district. If the special district has submitted its most recent final, complete audit report to the Auditor General, this requirement may be satisfied by providing a link to the audit report on the Auditor General’s website.
